The most important skill in a complex world is learning to keep things simple. So much depends on simplicity.
Embrace Simplicity
Become ruthlessly intolerant of complexity. Be suspicious of it.
A lot of bad ideas are wrapped in a mantle of complexity. So are good ones.
Ideas wrapped in complexity are basically useless. Action is harder to take, and results are harder to achieve.
From now on, cultivate an attitude of intolerance (a zero-tolerance policy, if you will) for complicated things.
(If you’re a fellow lawyer, you will find this especially hard to do😉)
Harness the 80/20 Principle
When you learn to leverage the 80/20 principle you’ll find things seem to magically get easier. Results are more easily gotten especially important ones.
You should read about the 80/20 Principle. And then reflect on it.
There’s amazing power in this magically odd imbalance. The more you reflect and examine, the more you’ll start to see how pervasive it is.
This odd imbalance is marvelously baked into everyday reality, and yet most of us overlook it completely.
Investigate the 80/20 Principle
If someone tells us about it we tend to be suspicious. We can’t believe that 80/20 power could be real.
But what if small, simple things can lead to extraordinary results?
What then?
Let’s find out, shall we?
